The UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit will include a Youth Climate Summit which will serve as a platform for young people who are driving climate action. It will be held on 21 September and bring together some 500 young activist, entrepreneurs, innovators and change-makers from across the globe.

Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.

Environmental justice is both a social movement with global reach and an interdisciplinary academic field that addresses the inequalities embedded in the ongoing ecological crisis.

The Envision Resilience Nantucket Challenge resources are geared toward helping university teams and the Nantucket community stay informed on sea level rise globally and locally. This library will continue to expand as the Challenge gets underway.

The Peoples Climate Movement used two key strategies to demand bold action on climate change: mass mobilization and movement alignment. We believe that by mobilizing massive numbers of people on the ground; finding alignment with partners under the banner of climate, jobs, and justice; and lifting up our core priorities of economic and racial justice, we can build the power required to win real and lasting climate policy on the federal, state, and local level.

Climate change demands that we ask what kind of world we want to live in, and is as much a social issue as an environmental one. Everywhere in the world, low-income, politically marginalized communities—historically those least responsible for CO2 emissions—are also those hardest hit by climate change and every aspect of the energy industry, from toxic pollution to resource wars.
